blogging gobbledygook and such

What a day!

One fateful weekday morning, sulz decided she had had enough of having nothing to do at work and surfing the Net all day, but at the same time dreaded the work that was expected to come anytime then. To illustrate how much she can’t stand work, she was so distraught at the thought of going work one Monday that she cried while driving herself on the way to work. (Her foul mood continued throughout the morning and because the boss wouldn’t allow her a half-day leave, she had to be contented with crying her eyes out in her cubicle during lunch time while eating her lunch and chatting with a friend about her then meltdown. *Chomp, sob, chomp, sob, chew, sniff…* She is now cured of that nasty blues, rest assured. Thank you very much Crazyasuka, for listening! *hugs*)

Point is, sulz was feeling naughty and thus she acted upon those naughty feelings… she asked for an _________ _____. Then, she promptly text messaged her partner in crime, Angel, for a day of illicit shopping!

Having triumphantly achieved that, sulz was plagued by her conscience throughout the day. She is a big believer of Murphy’s Law in that the things that she doesn’t want happen, will happen. Her anxiety was about work coming in and boss feeling miffed about her urgent absence, therefore feeling guilty for tramping about the shopping hotspots in Kuala Lumpur to fulfill her naughty desires. Anyhow, while that feeling continued to creep up every now and then throughout the secret rendezvous, sulz managed to enjoy the trip because several events of interest happened and it was such an action-packed shopping trip.

The first interesting thing that happened was that sulz and Angel were walking down a famous and busy street in Kuala Lumpur when they chanced upon a special car. This car has the logo of a local radio station and in the car it has people working for the radio station, who go about the streets giving out free goodies to passers-by. Now, sulz and Angel have always heard about this car going to so-and-so place and giving out freebies, but they have never been lucky enough to actually be near where the car was to get said goodies. So, Angel felt it was too good an opportunity to miss and insisted sulz melted under the hot sun so that Angel could grab what enticing goodies they might offer. At that point, the car had just arrived and it took a while before the radio crew set up buntings and stuff.

sulz and Angel stood in front of the car, both feeling like idiots because the radio crew wasn’t showing signs of giving out anything. Like what if they were going to have lunch or something?? Or needed an emergency toilet break?? After about 15 minutes, their foolishness and fears were dispelled as the radio crew were indeed giving out freebies… nothing impressive, though. Notepads, car stickers, generic cakes were distributed at the expense of onlookers having to do some silly acts in order to receive goodies. The biggest prize they offered was a goodie bag of assorted items courtesy of a current competition for an all-expenses-paid beach wedding for couples.

And guess who won? Angel! (She had a little help from up above because the answer to the question wasn’t even contained in the leaflet promoting said competition, which we were given to read in order to answer the questions to win said prize.)

Then, the excitement of free goodies over, sulz and Angel finally started shopping. Trawled through the labyrinths of the mall for dresses and skirts and whatnot, they found most of what they needed and wanted to head to Chinatown for cheaper trinkets. Unfortunately, just as they stepped out of the train, it rained cats and dogs! Well, actually, it was more like a waterfall; even though they were shaded at the station, they could feel sprays of water. They waited out the rain for about 15 minutes before it started to subside. The problem was that the path leading to Chinatown was absolutely flooded!

Luckily, they spotted another way to get to Chinatown, which was through a Chinese temple. Feeling as though they aren’t exactly allowed to go pass to get to the stairs, they quickly splashed their way through and descended down the stairs under Angel’s umbrella. Suddenly, sulz felt a tap on her shoulder – a hoe nearly dropped on her! What’s up with sulz and heavy objects being nearly thrown at her??

So anyway, standing at the stairs under the rain was no place to reflect about sulz’s near injury. They put it out of their minds while concentrating on a bigger task at hand – trying not to step into puddles! Which is impossible, of course, and sulz’s most comfortable pair of flats is near death from having endured filthy waters and sulz’s putrid feet as result of being soaked in wet flats. But girls like sulz and Angel are not easily put off by a little rain and a hoe nearly knocking their pretty little heads off when it comes to completing their shopping mission. In the end, Angel bought a considerable amount of jewelry at wholesale price while sulz splurged on the cutest earring stand! (Investment for her new room, she reasoned.)

When they finally finish crossing off most on their shopping list, they decided it’s time to head back home. Along with thousands of other citizens who just finished work… yeah, really smart aren’t they? Had to brave through a crowded train, and endure an hour-long traffic jam for what would normally take quarter of an hour… But when you’re with good company, little things like that doesn’t seem to matter much! sulz and Angel whiled their time in traffic away chatting about everything under the sun… especially about their latest culinary experience since they passed by the mall on the way home. πŸ˜€

The day was very interesting, I think! Who knew naughty feelings can bring to reality such eventful happenings?

Comments on: "What a day!" (11)

  1. I just wish I had the income to tell shopping stories like this, although I’m not a shopper, unless it comes to the computer or music store. haha!

sulz: but i spent less than rm150 yesterday! that’s just about usd$50! malaysia is full of cheap shopping if you know where to go. πŸ˜‰ i am however extremely hopeless with the kind of shopping you’re more familiar with!

  2. Wow you must have a nicer boss than I have ever been or have known. If I had a relatively new employee that took a day off as emergency leave just to go shopping, she probably would need the day off to look for a new job. πŸ˜‰

sulz: of course the boss didn’t know! shhh… πŸ˜›

  3. Hoe?? where on earth did it come from? I wanna go shopping!! Its been days since I spent the whole day at mall.

sulz: exactly our thoughts! who would put a hoe at the staircase? it might seem that somebody threw it at us, but who the hell would want to do that and why? surely not for borrowing their piece of land to get through in the rain! hehe, i recommend whole-day shoppings… very therapeutic!

  4. I want to go to Malaysia!

sulz: come on down! cheap shopping, awesome food, lovely beaches… are you buying a ticket online already? πŸ˜†

  5. when I read it I was like…

A whore fell on you? o_O

    Then I googled.

See my version is even more freaky.

I think it was a good move to take the day off. I hope you are feeling better.

sulz: rotflmao! good for my emotional health, not so good for my company (work did actually come in while i was gone… oops). but hey, a happy employee is a productive employee, yes? πŸ˜€ i am, but that’s probably got to do with the fact that it’s the weekend!! gotta check the mood temperature on monday… 😦

  6. He thinks, sulz is the best third person writer he knows. and the naughtiest

sulz: haha, thank you! it’s been a while since i did the whole no first-person-pronoun usage, huh? πŸ™‚ i should do that more often, hmm…

  7. Ooh, some day indeed! I like such days. The satisfaction of getting what you were looking for makes you completely forget all the problems you faced in getting it, no?

    @crazyasuka: LMAO. Whore. Haha. πŸ˜†

sulz: for that time, yup! πŸ™‚ bought some stuff am looking forward to wear to work, so that might make monday morning a bit more bearable, i hope!

  8. I’ve never heard of an action-packed shopping trip before, but it sounds like yours really was!

    Go Angel, winning that competition!

Oh dear, sulz. You rebel, you!

sulz: hehe, i think the whore hoe did the trick. yeah, and to think while we were foolishly waiting angel felt so silly she wanted us to go back shopping! i insisted that we stayed even though i felt equally foolish myself. πŸ˜†

    hehe 😳

  9. Ms. Johnny said:

I kept thinking about that hoe thing! it hit me on my shoulder, but not that hard. i can’t seem to find the logical reason of it to fell on us. tak masuk akal langsung…

like what you said, maybe we didn’t realize it was there at the side when we pass by it. but then again, if it were to fall shouldn’t it be hitting our legs instead of our shoulder?

remember when we look back at the hoe, it was few steps away from us…shouldn’t it be very near to us since it hit us?

i try to recall if we said anything ‘bad’ while we were crossing the temple, maybe the spirit was unhappy with us. but i don’t think so….

i feel very creepy when i think back about it!

I enjoyed our shoppping trip that day! thanks for helping me with the dress hunt πŸ˜‰

owh, and also for the bargaining skill in Chinatown πŸ˜€

sulz: means next time we cannot pass there to get to chinatown lor hor? maybe cos we aren’t buddhists, is it??

haha, you ni terlalu kaya lah sampai tak berani bargain. πŸ˜›

hah, mana tak enjoy, you won a prize on that day. get to take picture with it some more. πŸ˜‰

  10. I went to shopping a few days back. 5000 Rs vanished that day! My father was with me and his jaw was constantly dropping the way I was literally throwing money away!
    I loved it! πŸ˜‰

sulz: hahaha, he must have been amazed by your magic power at making money disappear.

  11. So, you’re a hoe-headed truant! Hah! I’d had my suspicions! πŸ˜‰ It does sound like a nice day out, (except for the hoe) and that you needed a break to not think of anything but shopping adventures. Interesting shortcut to Chinatown. Good for Angel winning goodies. I liked the third-person narrative. (Who is this “sulz” you write of?) πŸ™‚

sulz: 😳 a nice one, nonetheless! it’s starting to get busy for me at work, and while i’m beginning to like the job, i still feel alone and therefore wanting to run away… which i’ll try to ignore! πŸ™‚ oh, sulz is this fatty little shopaholic (who hasn’t been shopping enough hence the fatty… shopping burns lots of calories, you know!) who bought two pairs of white skirts (one of black roses motif and one her shortest skirt ever, Γ‘ la cheerleader pleated skirt style – to be worn with tights!) and her pretty little earring stand! πŸ˜€
