blogging gobbledygook and such

1

First: Take a look at bloggerdygook‘s stats page.

HAHAHA, isn’t that hilarious? Mean, it’s lamer than flaming someone, seriously.

Pestered a WordPress.com staff to find out the reason for marking this blog as spam, but unfortunately nothing came up. He concluded that it must have been accidentally clicked.

Cheh! πŸ˜•

On another note, it seems that self’s avatar, affectionately referred to as hotlips on the WordPress.com forums and admired by said WordPress.com staff above, is being lipped off but someone who doesn’t feel the same way. πŸ™‚

Therefore, the Turkish Delight forum party is the perfect, lip-smacking opportunity to change avatars. Support Turkish bloggers!

  1. haha bloggerdygook!
    Change the avatar!

sulz: erm, are you drunk? ‘cos you don’t make sense…

  2. Hey. No hate on Ms. Sulz! Just tired of seeing lips…not just here but everywhere. They have taken over the world!
    No harm I hope Sulz.

sulz: hey, no worries πŸ˜‰ was just teasing your post, that’s all!

  3. My bad no hate on Ms. Self. Whoever it is…I just run my mouth and don’t hold back. The lipness must end. But here’s good cause to end it.

  4. I have always liked your avatar.

sulz: heh, self too. will be putting it back on soon. πŸ™‚

  5. Ah, I commented about that avatar of yours on one of my posts. Not the lips one, the Turkey one I mean. I really liked your old avatar too. Don’t think about anyone, effin’ put it back.

Anyway, I shall sport this unblock WP in Turkey avatar too. It’s a nice initiative.

And LOL someone marked you as spam. I guess the spammers are fed up of posting spam comments and getting caught by Akismet so now they’re taking revenge by marking us as spam! πŸ˜›

sulz: hehe, don’t worry will put it back on soon enough. okay, if you’re looking for the bigger-sized avatar, just click on the wordpress.com forum link and copy it. them spammers could be taking revenge because have been playing police, reporting many splogs to the wordpress support staff!

  6. Wow, that’s incredible. How could anyone mark your blog as spam? It’s a conspiracy! You’re getting too powerful, Sulz – somebody doesn’t want you supporting Turkish bloggers. πŸ˜‰

We’ll miss the hotlips, but it’s for a worthy cause. If you believe in the rights of bloggers everywhere, please join us! πŸ™‚

sulz: am anything but influential, seriously! am thinking this is payback for all the splogs have reported to wordpress.com staff. *whispers* πŸ˜›

hotlips will come back after a session at the dry cleaners. yes people please join us in our red uniforms!

  7. all i can do is hope to change my avatar!

sorry i couldn’t visit your blog earlier. had no connection.
getting back to avatars, i don’t know why, but wp has issues with my avatar! my sort-of-old avatar and new avatar are switched arbitrarily! i don’t even know if i will be able to access my admin today.

and i don’t know if anybody is having problem viewing your blog…….the sidebar is overlapping on my end. 😦 for days 😦

it is truly very hard to read your posts for me. 😦
i wonder if i am the only ie user around here?

sulz: don’t worry, had avatar issues too. ah, viewing in ie would probably do that, as wordpress is best viewed with firefox. and no, we have plenty of ie users, from the threads in the forums going on complaining about this issue. πŸ˜‰

have you thought of subscribing to a blog’s rss feed using a feed reader (such as google reader, feedburner or bloglines)? that way, botched blog layouts in ie wouldn’t be a problem, and you get to read the latest posts from all the blogs you want to read.

  8. Yep, Sanjida is right. Your blog is all messed up in IE. I hate these different browser crisis.

sulz: am trying not to be bothered by it by not looking at self’s blog through ie. otherwise will be like those people whining in the forums about it. it’s annoying, but firefox is free for download, isn’t it?

  9. don’t even talk about download, sister! u have absolutely no idea how long a d/l that’s supposed to last just two minutes takes on my end! sometimes hours! i once fell asleep, no joke, waiting for the clipmarks demo video to finish buffering…

rss? i, um, ahem, tried to learn about it, but it’s one of those things that i just don’t get. and i dare not ask anyone, cos i know, there’s so much how-to available, that if i can’t do it, it’s all my fault. i’ll probably get the hang of it god-knows-when.

ps: gotta get ff offline from someone.
take care, sis! the avatar issue is a good one. and ehehe, i don’t know how long i will be able to blog, you know? things in bangladesh are heating up, sort of. i am getting worried about internet access myself πŸ˜‰

sulz: ah, you must be on dial-up? have been there just a few months ago, but it seems like ages ago! good, do get firefox if you can, you won’t go back to any other browser (until something better comes up, heh).

am no expert on rss either, but if you want some help for it, don’t hesitate to ask and shall help you the best self can. πŸ™‚

  10. @Sulz: Yes, Firefox is free of course.

@Sanjida: Do you have a Gmail account? If yes, then you can subscribe to this blogs feed in the Google Reader. It’s easy and requires no downloading what so ever. But you will need to have a Google account. If you don’t have it, then make one. It’s a fashion these days!

  11. Heh, maybe your comment looks like a spam. I had several friends’ comments went to spam and if I don’t have the mood to check 1 by 1…

sulz: same here, unless someone points out would never check spam box for comments – there’s just too much junk!

  12. hmmm… pretty interesting. the person was probably trying to add you to his/her blogroll, and ended up marking you as spam. which makes me wonder why the two links are so close to each other. πŸ˜›

so that the most popular blogs be flagged as spam? haha…

though can’t help but giggle at the search terms that are leading people to bloggerdygook. πŸ˜€

sulz: hehe, interesting, never thought of it that way! the search terms were disturbing when first began to blog, but now am so immune! am sure you get that sort of weird search terms for your own blog too. πŸ˜‰

  13. as an afterthought, the person who flagged your blog might just have been a frustrated pervert who didn’t find what he was expecting πŸ˜›

sulz: haha, the “poor” thing!

  14. Firefox is great! πŸ˜€

    sulz: but of course! πŸ™‚

  15. @ish,
i have a gmail account. so i guess it’s time to get rid of my rss phobia.

    @sulz,
keep it up, li’l sis! thanks for offering help. luv ya
    *smack*

sulz: good luck with your rss attempt. (and don’t be shy to ask for help.) seriously, after you got the basics of it, you’ll be glad you did it because it’s much better to read blogs this way when you’re using dial-up than by reading it straight from the blog. πŸ™‚

  16. i feel sooooooooooo utterly pissed off. i haven’t been able to change my avatar after repeated efforts! my server is extreeeeeeeeeeemly dowwn. 😦

if only i could reach my admin easily!

sulz: heh, dial-up can do that to you! it’s okay if you can’t put up the avatar; why not blog about it instead and spread the message? πŸ™‚

  17. i actually use a wireless modem. a gprs one, not the edge (the faster) one.
i did a post which addresses the blogging censorship issue. got badges from cjwriter.

and thanks for visiting my blog again! it’s getting so hard to post stuff regularly as well. yesterday i waited so long for the new post page to open that when it finally did, i totally forgot what i wanted to write about!

sulz: great, at least you could post something about the issue. haha, when was on dial-up before, would always write the post offline first so that when am online can just copy and paste the post into the editor. you should get blogdesk, which is a program for you to blog offline – you can format it and stuff too even if you have bad connection.

  18. hey sis!
i just discovered something. you have two avatars! your forum posts have the wp one, and the comments you made on my blog has candylips!

this has been happening to me lately. i finally have one single avatar – a white dummy one. i think it is over for me.

i wonder if you should send a feedback or something?

sulz: nope, the candylips are back now everywhere around wp.com. πŸ™‚ it takes a while to get around perhaps? heh, would be nice to be able to have more than one avatar though.

  19. […] Urgh, bad mood has definitely returned! Found a blogger in wordpress.com using self’s avatar! That blogger who thought lippy avatars are out is right! That’s sulz’s hotlips! How dare you! *shakes fist* This entry was written by sulz […]
